Overview
The Adafruit PowerBoost 1000 is a compact, high-efficiency DC/DC boost converter designed for power-hungry portable projects. It boosts battery inputs as low as 1.8V up to a stable 5.2V, providing extra headroom to prevent brown-outs while remaining safe for all 5V electronics.
Built around the TPS61030 synchronous boost converter, it features a 4A internal switch, high efficiency, and the ability to deliver 1A+ at 5V from low-voltage sources and up to 2A+ from Li-ion/LiPo batteries (battery dependent). Useful extras include an enable pin for full shutdown, a low-battery indicator LED, and onboard Apple/iOS charge resistors for fast USB charging.
Supplied fully assembled with a JST-PH battery jack, 2-pin terminal block, and USB-A connector, the PowerBoost 1000 is ideal for powering Arduino, Raspberry Pi, BeagleBone, robots, and other portable 5V projects.
