Overview
Modern microcontrollers like RP2040, ESP32, STM32, and NXP RT series often rely on external QSPI Flash to store firmware and assets, reducing BOM cost while still delivering excellent performance through quad-SPI and caching. This Adafruit W25Q128 QSPI Flash Breakout makes prototyping easy by converting an SOIC-8 QSPI Flash chip into a breadboard-friendly 0.3″ DIP format.
Based on the W25Q128JVSSIQ, this board provides 128 Mbit (16 MB) of 3.3 V QSPI Flash with the Quad Enable bit permanently set, so it works out of the box in QSPI mode. Ideal for testing different flash sizes or adding extra storage to microcontroller projects without custom PCB work.
