Overview
This compact buck converter based on the MPM3610 is a powerhouse for modern 3.3V electronics. It accepts a wide 4.5V–21V input range and delivers a rock-solid 3.3V output at up to 1.2A, making it ideal for powering 3.3V microcontrollers, sensors, wireless modules, and embedded systems from batteries, adapters, or higher-voltage rails.
What sets this board apart is its high input voltage tolerance—most small buck converters top out around 6V, but the MPM3610 comfortably handles up to 21V while maintaining excellent 90–95% efficiency. The converter runs at a fixed 2 MHz PWM frequency and uses a fully integrated inductor, resulting in a very small footprint with low ripple and high efficiency—perfect for space-constrained and portable projects.
Designed as a pin-compatible drop-in replacement for the LM1117-3.3V (TO-220) linear regulator, this breakout lets you instantly upgrade existing designs to a far more efficient switching regulator without redesigning your PCB. An onboard EN (Enable) pin allows you to completely shut down the output when not in use, helping extend battery life in low-power applications.
