Overview
Adafruit DS2484 I2C to 1-Wire Bus Adapter Breakout adds a dedicated 1-Wire interface to your existing I2C setup, making it easy to use 1-Wire devices from boards and systems that are better suited to I2C communication.
This breakout is especially useful for projects built around DS18B20 temperature sensors, including multi-sensor installations that share a single 1-Wire bus. The board includes ESD protection, supports split supplies, and provides a convenient terminal block for connecting 1-Wire power, data, and ground.
Built in the STEMMA QT form factor, it features connectors on both sides that are compatible with SparkFun Qwiic, so you can wire it up quickly with a compatible cable or chain it with other I2C boards. The breakout can run directly from a 3V or 5V STEMMA QT connection. If your 1-Wire device needs a different voltage on the V+ terminal, the onboard trace must be cut before injecting that voltage.
Applications
This breakout is a practical choice when your microcontroller, single-board computer, or software stack needs to access 1-Wire sensors over I2C. Typical use cases include environmental monitoring, remote temperature sensing, and multi-point DS18B20 installations where long cable runs and simple bus wiring are helpful.
