DFRobot Gravity Analog Dissolved Oxygen / DO Sensor Meter Kit is designed to measure dissolved oxygen in water so you can assess water quality in applications such as aquaculture, environmental monitoring, lab experiments, and maker projects. The kit combines a galvanic dissolved oxygen probe with a signal converter board for straightforward analog interfacing.
The galvanic probe requires no polarization time, helping you get started faster than probes that need a warm-up period before use. With a 0 to 20mg/L detection range, replaceable membrane cap, and replaceable filling solution, it is built for repeated use with manageable maintenance costs.
The included converter board supports a 3.3V to 5.5V supply and provides a 0 to 3.0V analog output, making it suitable for Arduino, ESP32, Raspberry Pi systems used with an ADC, and many other microcontroller platforms. The Gravity interface keeps wiring simple for prototyping and embedded deployments.

A new probe must be filled with 0.5 mol/L NaOH solution in the membrane cap before use. Fill about 2/3 of the cap, keep the probe vertical while reassembling, and avoid bubbles inside the cap.
After filling, the probe should be calibrated. Single-point calibration is suitable for stable temperatures, while two-point calibration is recommended when temperature varies. The analog output should be connected to a controller with ADC support.
Routine maintenance includes replacing the membrane cap every 1 to 2 months in muddy water or 4 to 5 months in clean water, and replacing the filling solution about once a month. Do not exceed 40℃ during preparation or calibration steps involving warm water.
Note: 0.5 mol/L NaOH solution must be prepared separately for probe filling and setup.
This kit measures dissolved oxygen in water across a 0 to 20mg/L range, helping assess water quality in applications such as aquaculture, environmental monitoring, lab work, and maker projects.
Yes, it is designed to work with popular platforms like Arduino and ESP32, and with Raspberry Pi systems when an ADC is used. The converter board outputs a 0 to 3.0V analog signal, so the host system needs ADC capability.
The converter board operates from 3.3V to 5.5V. It provides a 0 to 3.0V analog output through the Gravity analog interface.
The kit includes the dissolved oxygen probe and the signal converter board. For a new probe, 0.5 mol/L NaOH solution must be prepared separately to fill the membrane cap before calibration and use.
No, this is a galvanic probe, so it does not require polarization time. After filling the probe with the required NaOH solution, it should be calibrated before taking measurements.
The membrane cap is typically replaced every 1 to 2 months in muddy water or 4 to 5 months in clean water, and the filling solution is replaced about once a month. The electrode service life is about 1 year under normal use.
