Adafruit Sensirion SHT40 Temperature & Humidity Sensor is a high-accuracy, fourth-generation environmental sensor breakout designed for reliable temperature and relative humidity measurement over I2C. It uses a true I2C interface, making it easy to connect with just SDA, SCL, power, and ground.
The SHT40 offers up to ±1.8 %RH typical humidity accuracy and up to ±0.2 °C typical temperature accuracy. On-board support circuitry includes a voltage regulator, level shifting, pull-up resistors, and capacitors, so the breakout works comfortably with both 3.3V and 5V systems.
For quick, solder-free integration, the board includes STEMMA QT connectors compatible with SparkFun Qwiic. It is also supported by Arduino and CircuitPython/Python libraries, making it a practical choice for makers, embedded developers, and data-logging projects.

Each order includes one fully assembled and tested PCB breakout and a small piece of header. QT cable is not included. If you plan to use the board on a breadboard, you will need to solder the included header yourself.
The SHT40, SHT41, and SHT45 use the same code and share the same I2C address scheme, but this listing is specifically for the SHT40 version. The marking on the board identifies which breakout you have.
It uses a true I2C interface, so you connect it with SDA and SCL plus power and ground. The board also supports I2C Fast Mode Plus and CRC checksum.
Yes. The breakout is designed for 3.3V to 5V supply and includes onboard regulation and level shifting, so it can be used with many 3V or 5V microcontrollers and microcomputers.
The I2C address is 0x44. According to the provided reference, this address cannot be changed on this breakout.
Yes. The board includes SparkFun Qwiic-compatible STEMMA QT connectors for the I2C bus, which allows solderless connection with compatible boards and cables. A QT cable is not included.
The SHT40 offers up to ±1.8% RH typical accuracy and up to ±0.2 °C typical temperature accuracy. The stated typical ranges are 25 to 75% RH for humidity accuracy and 0 to 75 °C for temperature accuracy.
Each order includes one fully assembled and tested PCB breakout and a small piece of header. If you want to use it on a breadboard, the header needs to be soldered onto the board.
